What is this TechKickback thing?

Who is this for?

You're a black or latinx tech employee that on the weekend tinkers but would love some support to make progress on those projects you've been sitting on.

You're a creative or entrepreneur that wants to focus more on building instead of making limited resources stretch thinner. You don't have the luxury of the friends and fam round (you might even be your friends and family's round) so every cent spent on the business holds even greater weight.

You're a tech employee (you may or may not be a poc) and you're invested in making tech more inclusive and equitable. You might be tired of tech initiatives around inclusion that offer little to no cultivation of the dope talent and expertise that exists. You want to find new useful ways to get support efforts and make an impact.

You just want to connect with others while building and creating.

who is eligible?

This event is for black and latinx individuals. If you can make it to NYC on 4.29 be sure to sign up please note that will not be covering travel costs.

costs

Accepted attendes will pay a $45 fee upon confirmation of acceptance. If the cost presents a major burden let us know upon confirmation we're happy to work with you.

what to expect?

The day will include industry mentors, workshops, sessions and good vibes.

The aim is to make progress on your project and goals so that will be the priority of the event. We'll have food, drinks and snacks to fuel you throughout the day.

who is behind this?

Bianca also known as (@belaurie) on the internet aka Twitter. Bianca has a passion for cultivating spaces and environments that engage, equip and connect communities of black and latinx innovators to tap into the power of technology. She's passionate about making tech products and tech spaces more equitable and inclusive. She's worked at and has parterned with organizations like CODE2040, LinkedIn, a16z, Pinterest, Spotify, GitHub and others.
